The Inner Child! Ostriches! And… Being the CEO Of Your Financial Life?
Or, how to take back control of your finances
“Money isn’t everything but it sure keeps you in touch with your children.” – J. Paul Getty
Aloha, lovely entrepreneurs!
We’ve spent the last few weeks basking in the high-vibe glow of the mindset of the Sacred Money Archetypes. It’s been good, right? But because when it comes to Mavericks and Malbec my Jester nature refuses to let us stay complacent, it’s now time to stop admiring the view and start looking further under the hood. My balancing Sage energy is addicted to the truth.
So far we’ve taken a look at the mindset of all eight Sacred Money Archetypes: the Ruler, Accumulator, Connector,Alchemist, Maverick, Celebrity, Nurturer and Romantic.
But this week, we’re pivoting. We are moving from the “Sacred” into “Survival”. We’re gonna look at those four archetypes that usually run the show when we’re stressed, tired, or haven’t had enough Malbec. 🍷
This week we’re moving on to the four Survival Archetypes: the Child, Victim, Prostitute and Saboteur.
First up? It’s the turn of The Child.
The Child is your Guardian of Innocence.
Now, the truth is simple: we all have a part of us that just wants to be taken care of. But from on the other hand? The Child is that bit of you trying to hide a scary bank statement under the bed like a 7-year-old hiding a bad report card. It’s time to offer a different perspective on your “inner brat.”
The Child: Your Inner Innocent (and Occasional Financial Toddler)
When you are in your empowered Child, you are the life of the party. You’re playful, optimistic, and you see possibilities where others see brick walls. You bring that “anything is possible” magic to your life and business.
But when money gets “too adult”?
You abdicate: You look for a “parent” figure (a partner, a bookkeeper, or the Universe) to swoop in and save you.
You “Ostrich”: You decide that if you don’t look at the numbers, they don’t actually exist.
You lean into the “I’m just a creative/not a math person” trope: Sage advice? That’s just a clever story you’re telling to avoid the driver’s seat.
The Child archetype isn’t about being childish; it’s about maturing your magic. It’s about realizing that “growing up” doesn’t mean losing your fun: it means owning the playground so nobody can kick you off it.
Let’s jar you out of financial complacency and shift you back into your empowered Child.
These mindset statements use the key words of Ho’oponopono1 to clear the “I’m too small for this” energy and replace it with Sage-like clarity.
Take three deep, grounding breaths (yes, even you, Maverick)... and let’s dive in.
Here are ten Child Money Mindset Statements for prosperity:
I now take full, clever responsibility for my financial world.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I am perfectly capable of understanding my money… it’s not a mystery, it’s just maths.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I now release the fantasy of being “saved” so I can experience the thrill of saving myself.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
It is safe for me to be a high-earning adult while staying naughty and playful.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I trust my own wisdom to make mature financial decisions.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I release the fear of looking at my bank balance; the truth sets my business free.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I am the CEO of my life, not a passenger in my own bank account.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I deserve financial independence now because it’s the ultimate form of freedom.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I choose to find the fun in the “boring” structures that support my big, beautiful life.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
I embody the empowered Child: curious, optimistic, and totally bossing my bottom line.
I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
Child, hear this:
Your optimism is a superpower, but I have to tell you: hope is not a financial strategy.
I want you to know that you don’t have to become a stiff, boring suit to be “good with money.” You can be wealthy and a little bit naughty. You can have a legacy and a sense of humour.
You don’t need to hand over your power to feel safe.
You don’t need to pretend you’re “confused” to get attention or help.
You don’t need to choose between your wonder and your wealth.
You are not helpless. You’re just a powerful being who sometimes forgets she’s the one holding the chequebook.

… but if it really resonated…
We’re going to ease the stress by blending prosperity mindset work with the Ho’oponopono cleaning process – a method taught by Morrnah Simeona, the Hawaiian kahuna lapa’au (healer) who brought this practice to the modern world.
Why combine the two?
Because each mindset statement activates a new possibility…
… and the Ho’oponopono phrases clean away the resistance to receiving it.
It’s intention → release → intention → release.
A steady rhythm of upgrade and cleanup.
It’s simple, potent, and energetically clean – exactly how we like our money mindset work around here!
