The Great Money “I AM” – Part 2
Or, how to stop money self-sabotage
“Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination.” – Oscar Wilde
Aloha Entrepreneur!
So!
We’ve been looking at some dangerous money mindsets and discovering how to kick them to the kerb.
This week, let’s continue our review of the light side of each of the Sacred Money Archetypes and create an “I AM” Statement you can use whenever doubts set in.
Last week we reviewed the first four – Ruler, Accumulator, Connector and Alchemist.
This week, we’ll visit the final four – Maverick, Celebrity, Nurturer and Romantic.
Let’s jump in!
Maverick
The Maverick is a key component of all human growth and development, understanding that risk is essential in whatever business, political, artistic, spiritual or other situation you may find yourself.
Question is, are you rebelling in response to peer pressure or passing trends that actually just keep you stuck in conformity, or, do you channel the rebellious streak to break through tired preconceptions in your professional life to find new, innovative ways of earning?
In other words, is money purely an outcome of being seen to be rebellious, or, does it stem from a genuine desire to empower and model for the underdog what’s possible in life?
For the purposes of this exercise, let’s try to keep things in the light rather than the shadow!
Think about that as you create a new “I AM” Statement for yourself.
How do you, as a Maverick, relate to money?
For example, you might say:
I AM a million-dollar rebel with a cause
I AM happily balancing extreme risk with financial security
I AM highly creative when it comes to making money
Now complete your own statement: I AM ____________________
… and say it aloud to yourself at least 15 times* every day!
Celebrity
The Celebrity is all about a desire to stand out from the crowd and manifest the extraordinary, creating an emotional field that inspires others.
Question is, is your celebrity nothing more than a façade hiding an empty bank account, or, do you openly use your position to make a positive and empowering impression on others?
In other words, is money merely a tool to keep up the illusion, or, does money merely support a genuine desire to use your position for good?
For the purposes of this exercise, let’s try to keep things in the light rather than the shadow!
Think about that as you create a new “I AM” Statement for yourself.
How do you, as a Celebrity, relate to money?
For example, you might say:
I AM a million-dollar leader
I AM accumulating wealth while being admired and valued in the world
I AM actively increasing how much I love, accept and believe in myself
Now complete your own statement: I AM ____________________
… and say it aloud to yourself at least 15 times* every day!
Nurturer
The Nurturer is all about providing an infusion of strength and support to others during difficult situations.
Question is, do you step in to help because you want to feel needed, or, do you only intervene temporarily and then quickly empower the other to develop their own independence?
In other words, do you use money a means to be seen as a martyr helping others, or, do you use money, time or other resources as a means of alleviating the suffering of others and then helping them move on without you?
For the purposes of this exercise, let’s try to keep things in the light rather than the shadow!
Think about that as you create a new “I AM” Statement for yourself.
How do you, as a Nurturer, relate to money?
For example, you might say:
I AM a million-dollar value giver
I AM caring for others by empowering myself
I AM setting healthy boundaries with others
Now complete your own statement: I AM ____________________
… and say it aloud to yourself at least 15 times* every day!
Romantic
The Romantic is all about enjoying life and the pleasures of the world.
Question is, do you pursue pleasure without regard for other people or your own wellbeing, or, do you healthily embrace all the good things in life and act generously with others?
In other words, do you use money and spending as a way to cover up feelings of emptiness, or, do you spend within your means and fully enjoy what life has to offer?
For the purposes of this exercise, let’s try to keep things in the light rather than the shadow!
